BACH'S REMEDIES GUIDE

THE HISTORY

the history of bachs remedies

Bach remedies were developed in the 1930s by Edward Bach, a British doctor who believed that emotional wellbeing plays a key role in overall health. Trained in conventional medicine, Dr. Bach became increasingly interested in treating the person rather than just the symptoms, and turned to nature in search of a gentler, more holistic approach.

Between 1930 and 1936, he identified 38 flower and plant remedies, each designed to support a specific emotional state such as fear, uncertainty, loneliness, or stress. He created simple preparation methods using pure water and sunlight or boiling, aiming to make his system accessible and easy to use.

1. Directly on the Tongue

Place 2 drops of a single remedy directly onto the tongue. This can be repeated up to 4 times daily, or as needed.

2. In a Glass of Water

Add 2 drops of your chosen remedy to a glass of water and sip throughout the day. This is a gentle way to support ongoing emotional balance.

3. Creating a Personal Blend

Up to 7 remedies can be combined in a mixing bottle. Add 2 drops of each selected remedy to a 30ml bottle filled with still water (and a little brandy as a preservative, if desired). Take 4 drops, 4 times daily.

4. On-the-Go Support

Some blends, such as Rescue Remedy, are available in dropper or spray format for convenient use during stressful moments, travel, or busy days.

5. In the Bath

Add 4–6 drops of your chosen remedy or blend to a warm bath. This allows you to relax while supporting emotional wellbeing.

6. On Pulse Points

Apply a few drops to pulse points such as the wrists, temples, or behind the ears. This can be especially comforting during stressful moments.

7. In a Diffuser or Room Mist

Although traditionally taken orally, remedies can also be added to water in a room spray bottle or diffuser to create a calming environment.

Bach remedies are suitable for adults and children and can be used alongside other wellness practices. Always follow label guidance and consult a healthcare professional if you have specific health concerns.
